The seasons are changing and we are on our way towards lighter and warmer months. Although we always strive for a wardrobe that can be worn over several seasons and years, most of us often have a gap to fill. We will give tips for a great spring wardrobe base.
Even if your wardrobe is full of good quality garments that follow you year after year, a certain amount of new clothes always gives an injection of energy and inspiration. Spring is an interesting period where temperatures increase, therefore allowing for lighter and more colourful clothes. Sometimes the cool weather remains during spring mornings and afternoons, which means that outer layers such as vests and coats remain in the wardrobe. We will give advice for 10 garments that are ideal for spring.
Suede Jacket
A thin suede jacket which is perfect for spring. On colder days you can wear a knitted sweater, and perhaps also a scarf. This jacket combines well with the majority of garments from this list, and it functions just as well at work as it does with friends at a café.
Sunglasses
Sunglasses are current all year round, and become more useable when the spring sun appears from behind the clouds, although low on the horizon. A grey or brown frame harmonizes well with many surrounding colour choices.
Gilet
The gilet is an ideal garment for spring as it is very practical and stylish. Depending on the weather and what kind of style you are after, then you can wear the gilet over everything from a blazer to a knitted jumper.
Waterproof Coat
Even though we like to see spring as a springboard for summer, with the sun and lukewarm temperatures, it isn’t to be forgotten that it offers a fair amount of rain. Mackintosh have made waterproof coats since 1823, and we have chosen a beige design that works with most garments in a wardrobe.
White t-shirt
Towards the end of spring we notice that temperatures can rise up to summer levels, and therefore this list should at least accommodate a t-shirt. We have chosen a t-shirt with a somewhat wider collar, and made from a strong cotton which holds its form for longer. Perfect to wear under an overshirt, a thin coat or just as it is.
Rucksack
A rucksack is perhaps the best option to have with you to work when it’s time to get on the bicycle again. Our choice is a rucksack that has room for a computer and a set of gym clothes.
Half-Zip Jumper
A thinly knitted half-zip jumper made from virgin wool, cashmere and silk. The jumper is comfortable and has a more formal feel than other jumpers. The grey colour combines with almost everything, and we advise them to be worn with a pair of white jeans and sneakers.
Sneakers
Sneakers hardly need any further presentation at present. Do you wear then often, then a pair made from higher quality materials will help you to stand out from the crowd. This low model creates a stylish and minimal feel, perfect when paired pair white trousers and a grey jumper.
White Jeans
White jeans are thought to be annoying to use, and how do you deal with stains? We can offer you calm that there will no longer be stains on your white jeans, as long as you have good table manners. White jeans often work as a contrast to the other colours you wear, they perhaps fit extra well with beige, grey, dark blue or dark green. Not wearing black shoes with white jeans is a “rule” that has long been scrapped.
Loafers
Loafers are very versatile shoes that fulfil several stylistic functions all year round. In the spring, many of us look forward to the time when they can be worn without socks. Simply replacing your sneakers with loafers can elevate your style and the whole impression of the combination and the clothes you wear. This shoe model works for either jeans, chinos or knitwear. Try it out, maybe you will find a new favourite shoe?
